I get a 404 not found error when trying to access webmail - why?

Sometimes when logging onto webmail from a location with a strict firewall (Work networks, some internet cafes or even home PC) you will encounter a page not found warning. This is most likely due to the fact that the port (port 2095) that is required to run webmail is blocked.

Ports that aren't frequently used are often blocked by firewalls to prevent security breaches. While webmail is a legitimate service, it often falls victim to this strict security measure. An alternative to access webmail in such circumstances is using http://mail2web.com. This will allow you to retrieve your POP email through the web.
